Shinjuku 12-so Kumano Shrine is one of the main shrines of the Shinjuku area, which includes Nishi-Shinjuku, the area around Shinjuku Station and Kabukicho. The origins of the shrine date back to the 15 century during the Muromachi period. The gods enshrined here have been cherished for generations for their power in assisting with commercial success, marriage and domestic safety, and many people have faith in the powers of this shrine.
