Learn about Japan’s Post-War Experience from a Female Perspective

Tue, January 07, 2020 - Sun, March 29, 2020

The challenging experience of living in post-war Japan was felt especially strongly by the women living through it. Wives were waiting for their husbands to return from Siberia, and mothers with young children were leaving Manchuria. Whether they were separated from their loved ones through death or overseas posting, the deep sadness felt by these women lasted a lifetime. At this exhibition, you can see many documents from these women and learn more about their war experience.
