Hanazono Shrine

First up is Hanazono Shrine, a popular shrine located near Kabukicho, Shinjuku’s bustling nightlife district. This shrine has been a part of Shinjuku throughout its development into the big city that it is today. Every November, the lively Tori no Ichi festival takes place at this shrine, changing it from a peaceful oasis to an exciting fairground. It’s said that the gods of business and luck are enshrined here, so this may be the place to check out if you’re in a new relationship!

If you’re in a more serious relationship, don’t miss Itoku Inari Shrine, a small shrine located within Hanazono Shrine’s grounds. This is said to be a great place for young women and couples, both married and unmarried, to wish for a successful marriage, luck, and pregnancy. Escape from the city’s noise here!
