Check Out the Limited-Time Official Rugby World Cup Megastore

The Rugby World Cup, an event held only once every four years, will be starting on September 20th in Tokyo. This is the first time that the event has been held in Asia. To commemorate this event, an official shop selling all kinds of rugby goods and memorabilia will open in Shinjuku one month before the games start.

The World Cup games will be happening not only in Tokyo but Aichi, Osaka, Kashiwa, and Kumamoto as well. Though there will be 80 official rugby shops open all across Japan, there are certain items that are exclusive to the Shinjuku Megastore available.

The Megastore can be found in Shinjuku Odakyu Park. This shop is five times the size of a singles tennis court, so a lot of goods can be found inside. You can find the jerseys of 20 teams participating in the games, long towels, goods to help you cheer the teams on, commemorative goods, t-shirts, hats and more. You can also see the Webb Ellis Cup that the teams are vying for on display in the Megastore. The latest results are also posted in the shop, so fans are sure to enjoy every moment spent inside.

The game mascots are also a huge selling point. The mascot for this Wolrd Cup is Renji, a character designed with the kabuki play Renjishi in mind. There are many goods featuring this character all around the shop. The Renji shaped like a round Daruma doll is especially cute!

The Megastore will be open from August 22nd to November 20th. If you’re in the Shinjuku area then be sure to stop by!
